Agfrifest 2014

The St. Croix Agriculture and Food Fair is a three-day food, agriculture, art, livestock, and music extravaganza. It is held at the Rudolph Shulterbrandt Agricultural Complex in Estate Lower Love. Virgin Islanders and visitors from around the world look forward to this short, but sweet weekend of cultural exhibits and delicious Virgin Islands cuisine. Savor St. Croix stemmed from a family-owned catering company. This year was our 12th year participating in Agrifest, but it marked Savor St. Croix’s debut. While we usually wear madras to signify our cultural dress, this year was a little different. Our many helping hands and supporters donned signature Savor St. Croix tees. Agrifest 2014 was not just about the cultivation of plants, but Savor St. Croix ripened at the fairgrounds. People everywhere look forward to this annual celebration, but for Savor St. Croix, it felt like a brand new beginning. The emergence of this new venture came in the nick of time. Now, fair-goers near and far don’t have to wait until the next Agrifest to enjoy their favorite Virgin Islands eats. With that said, nothing beats walking the fairgrounds soaking up the sun. In case you missed it, here are some photos from this one-of-a-kind display of food and agriculture.
